Update!

I went for my two week check up last week and everything went well. She pretty much told me the same thing she had told me before. Yes, there was early stage cancer but they got it all out. I come off Depo in Feb. but my doctor wants me to wait till March to start trying. She wants me to get a clean pap smear back  just to be on the safe side. She took a look and said I was healing well and said I could return to my martial activities! I was stunned!! I asked her at least 3 times if she was sure. Originally they told me I was going to have to take 4-6 weeks to heal so I assumed my poor husband was just going to have to wait that long. She said she was sure just to be careful. I was too excited!!! Lol, and Jason didn’t know it yet but he would be too ;-) I neglected to tell him on purpose and instead asked him out on a date. You guys don’t need to hear the rest of that story but everything is good!!!

The New Year has started off great and we are going to have a busy year!!
We have started planning a cruise in September for Jason’s birthday!! I am so super excited about it!! Carnival starts docking in Charleston in May so we won’t even have to travel to get on the boat!!! I have been on a cruise before to the Bahamas but we had to drive all the way to ft. Lauderdale to catch the boat…ask Amanda…that’s a whole different story…

Anyway. So we are taking a 5 day cruise to the Bahamas!! I have been to Freeport before so I know what its like. It’s pretty but it dang sure isn’t Hawaii!! Jason has never been which is why im so excited!! This time we will have rooms on the boat…and yes, we are upgrading!!! I think I had him talked into getting a suite but after deciding we probably won’t be in the room that much we are only going to make a small upgrade!!! I can’t wait!! Then I realized I might be pregnant. At first this curved my enthusiasm but then I realized I don’t have to be drinking to have fun! It all on the company you keep!!! We have the best friends in the world and they are all going with us!!! So even if im as big as one of the whales with a fat pregnant belly, its still going to be an amazing time!!!

I have also learned The United States Congress designated January as Cervical Health Awareness Month!
Teal is the color for ovarian/cervical cancer (ovarian cancer’s designated month is September)
Here is a link to some sites that sell and support cervical cancer awareness!!

Almost every case of cervical cancer can be prevented through programs using the Pap test, the HPV test, and the HPV vaccine. But many women around the world don’t know about or have access to these tools. As a result, 500,000 women develop cervical cancer and almost 300,000 die of cervical cancer – every year.

I was extremely lucky. I was at  Stage 1 and thanks to the research study i was involved in and the pap smear they gave me i was able to treat it.

I cant stress enough how important it is to have your yearly pap smear done. Dont do what i did and put it off just because you dont think there is anything wrong with you.
